When Kentucky Medicaid receives returned Medicaid member mail starting Aug. 17, the member must update his or her address by the end of the following month to maintain Medicaid coverage. For example, if returned mail is received on Aug. 20, 2015, the member must update his or her address by Oct. 1, 2015.
Physicians may ask Medicaid patients if they have moved recently and remind them that they are required to update their address to stay covered with a Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MCO).
The Managed Care Organizations are not permitted to update the members address. Medicaid members or their authorized representatives may use the following resources to update addresses:
- Call DCBS (Department of Cabinet for Health and Family Services) at 1-855-306-8959
- Call kynect at 1-855-4kynect (459-6328)
- Update address via kynect
- Find a local DCBS office
