- House Bill 1 education requirements include all physicians with a DEA license who prescribe or dispense controlled substances in Kentucky. Physicians must complete 4.5 hours of Category 1 CME related to the use of KASPER, pain management, addiction disorders or a combination of two or more of those subjects, in every CME cycle.
- Domestic Violence education requirements include primary care physicians (including general/family practice, pediatrics, general internal medicine, emergency medicine, OB/GYN, preventive medicine/public health) who must complete a one-time 3.0 hours of Category 1 CME within three years of licensure.
- Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma education requirements include pediatricians, radiologists, family practitioners, emergency medicine and urgent care physicians who must complete a one-time 1.0 hour of Category 1 CME prior to December 31, 2017.

St. Elizabeth’s 7th Annual Patient Safety Summit is being held on Thursday, March 9, 9–11 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center (SETEC). Dr. Phillip K. Chang, MD, FACS, will cover the Culture of Safety and the importance of Physician Engagement. Dr. Chang is the Chief Medical Officer for UK HealthCare and a key member of the senior leadership team, focusing directly on clinical outcomes, patient experience, team member and faculty engagement and efficiency.
